The PX-31 UAS is a multi-purpose unmanned aircraft system with the ability to carry a diverse suite of sensors and payloads serving user needs. 

Usually, operators in need of an UAS for testing multiple types of sensors or payloads are required to design, construct and set up the complete aircraft system themselves. With the PX-31, we deliver a turn-key solution with a flight-ready aircraft. The payload can be mounted to a standardized payload frame on an interchangeable plate, enabling control of several payloads instead of tying an aircraft to a single payload. 

The PX-31 UAS has redundant communication for beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) operations. A customizable combination of VHF/UHF, C-BAND and 4G systems provides communication range and bandwidth needed for most missions. For areas where no other systems provide coverage, Iridium Satellite communications are used. 

Command and control can be distributed into a network-based setup enabling several UAS controlled from a central control room, with remote sites and crews in the field preparing, taking off, landing and servicing the aircraft. This setup enables control of a fleet of UAS over longer distances and point-to-point flights.

The VCS is a ground control station integrating all components required for UAS operations. Integrated air band VHF connecting the operators to other air traffic as well as each other through a wireless intercom system simplifies operations. The control station establishes a dedicated work area for the pilot.Communication links are added in the form of external modules that all connects through standardized connectors. All links are merged into one in order to simplify flight operations for the internal pilot.


Payload options include EO/IR camera sensor systems, LIDAR, broadband communication relay systems. The UAS can also carry cargo from point to point when speed of delivery is critical.


The UAS platform has been proven as a solid platform for dual UAS operation. Flying multiple UAS simultaneously enables efficient operations collecting more data in a shorter time, or utilizing the benefits of payloads positioned in different locations at the same time.


Transponder integration: ADS-B transponder, enabling all ADS-B equipped aircraft, as well as all ATC units with radar or ADS-B to know the position, speed and heading of the RPAS using their existing systems. Use of airplane approved components whenever available increases reliability and fault tolerance of the PX-31. All components have faced intensive testing, both individually and together as a complete platform.


Our in-house developed service module distributes power and communication to all parts of the system, as well as the payload bay for use by the payload. The payload bay provides space for both custom and premade payloads.


The drives for the PX-31 were speed and an increased operating window in Arctic conditions with high winds and cold. The Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) can be deployed to rapidly scan the ocean for potential hazards or in a SAR role.
